WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?
When you become a follower of Christ, many times a church or organization will hand you a New Testament (or maybe even a whole Bible) and encourage you to read it.
But here's the problem: the Bible isn't a normal book. It's filled with narration, poems, sayings, prophecy, parables, letters, and more. So you can't read the Bible as you would a normal book.
Additionally, most churches and organizations don't have a teacher or class that will help you understand how to read the whole Bible. You'll get bits and pieces in a weekend message or small group, but what about the rest of the Bible? In essence, they leave you on your own.
This leaves believers confused, intimidated, and frustrated when reading the Bible.
Sure, the stories of creation, Abraham & Isaac, Joseph and the famine in Egypt, Moses and the Exodus, Joshua and the conquest of the land, Samson & Delilah, David & Goliath, Jesus, and Paul are easy to read.
But what happens when you get to the book of Numbers, or Isaiah or Jeremiah, or First or Second Chronicles, or one of the minor prophets like Obadiah or Haggai? What about the book of Revelation? Aren't they just as important, or should you skip them because you can't understand them?
